On the northern side it is moderately warm, gentle rains water gets fed through the hills and mountains, fertile soil. Also there was the rivers to rely on for another water source. On the southern side it was a barren flat desert it got up to 110 degrees above fahrenheit, and little rainfall it didn't have any fertile soil and was a desert once they expanded towards the south side of Mesopotamia.

How did the technological developments that the Mesopotamia had allow them to change the environment.
Mesopotamia had many technological developments in writing, mathematics, the wheel, astronomy, medicine, irrigation, bronze and metal iron, pottery, weaving, and much much more. These new technological developments allowed them to change their environment so it goes into there favor so that they can live with a surplus of food. Irrigation allowed them to grow crops faster than without irrigation, also building canals from the water around Mesopotamia allowed them to make farms in the desert. The wheel made it so that they could build chariots for war and carts for transportation for trading for traveling. The bronze/iron development made it so that they could build strong tools and weapons, and before they would have weak tools and weapons. Weaving made it so that they could use wool which they got from their sheep and turn it into shoes, cloths, and anything that could be made out of wool
