Social Classes
Why Were There Social Classes? There were Social Classes to divide people into different groups of importance. There were 6 Social Classes The Social Classes Kings The kings are the rulers they are in charge of the country or city they live in they are the richest people of the land. Priests The priests are the assistants of the king. They make sure everyone acts accordingly to the law and that the civilization is happy. Upper Class The upper class people were very wealthy and wore elegant clothes, long dresses and many rings. Middle Class The middle class had craftsmen and merchants to sell all of their clothes and other merchandise. Lower Class The lower class people were farmers an laborers who worked very hard to have a house to live in, and to keep their family alive. Slaves The slaves were jailers that worked for the king and the wealthy. Every slave usually cost money or were traded. Take a Quiz Read and answer these questions with a partner. Social Groups
Education Education was provided for boys only. The teachers were strict and were whipped if they did something wrong. An man whom was able to read or write would most likely to get better jobs. Men vs. Women The upper class men wore rings and skirts. Women wore elegant dresses with their hair braided in fancy patterns. The Role Of Slaves The slaves were people that were used as servents to kings and the wealthy. They made very little money and were treated differently than others. Even a freeman ( A freed slave ) was treated differently than a white man.The slaves got no education what so ever, Then could only sing songs and learn there native language. The slaves were sold and traded for a certain amount of money, depending if they were men, women, or a child.
