Inventions Written Language
One of the biggest and most commonly used inventions in ancient Mesopotamia was the wheel. The wheel was first invented to make it easier to haul large loads of crops to a certain place such as a town so that the person selling the crops could make a living. The invention of the wheel was dated back to 3,500 BC.

The earliest writing was based on pictograms. This was called cuneiform. Cuneiform was dated back to 3,200 BC. Sumerians used clay tablets. After they were finished writing, they would bake the tablet so the writing became a permanent record.

Common Art
Art reflects the life style of the people. Their arts are usually made from stone, marble, and sand. They created art to glorify their gods and kings. Some of the pictures had stories like fables and legends that went along with it. Pottery was well made and eventually became a form of wealth.
Architecture
Several types of architecture were used throughout anchient Mesopotamia. Many temples were built in a pyramid type way so when the lands ruler would be able to look down at his people and know he was the ruler because he was higher up than e=anyone else. Houses and stores were almost always connected to each other. They were also made out of mud.
